Last night was a movie, as the kids say, or at the very least a vibe. As in: we threw an intimate and informal get-together at Blackbird Club—aka our private space at Parcelle Greenwich Village—for our 3x and 5x members, plus a few good friends. In addition to pop-ups like our Shy’s Burgers dinner in April, and future programmed events, we’ll also be hosting these more casual affairs at the top of every month.
But back to last night: charcuterie, caviar bumps, and some hand-selected wines from Grant Reynolds’ team, like a ’68 Prunotto Nebbiolo — yowza. Since the room is intimate, and wood-paneled, it’s slightly reminiscent of—and this one's for the heads in the back with some history in this town—a mid to late aughts club in Meat Packing called APT (warning: language 😉). In particular, the downstairs of that joint, where clubbers squeezed in to trainspot deep cuts spun by DJs that would never be booked at the rest of the neighborhood’s top-40 clubs. If you remember the spot, we’re sure you’re feeling a bit nostalgic right now. All the more reason to join us next time.
Who knows, maybe we’ll book the type of DJ that used to play APT. Until then, there’s this playlist that got us all bobbing our heads and swaying our hips last night.
