To celebrate the official first month of summer, we threw open the doors to Blackbird Club last night for an informal members get together. Tunes, 400 freshly shucked Island Creek Oysters, West Houston Street drenched in the warm lambent light of early evening — you know the drill. There was of course wine, a German pino blanc/chardonnay blend and a chilled red Burgundy, both poured by our man Sam, plus snacks, as well as mignonette and cocktail sauces provided by Blackbird partners Strange Delight, Bad Roman, and Parcelle. We handed out Polaroid cameras and told friends to capture the magic.
